Tricia Weyand, MS. LCPC. NBCC., received her BA from the University of London and her MS in Counseling from the University of Southern Maine. She is a College Placement Consultant at a high school in the greater Portland area, a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maine. She has thirty-five years of experience in the fields of education and counseling in England, ireland and the United States, with the past ten years being specifically focused on the post secondary planning process.
In addition to her private practice Tricia has been a workshop presenter and faculty member for the New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NEACAC). In 2007 she was elected to become an assembly delegate for NEACAC to the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) which allows her to serve on the governing board and vote on issues of national concern in the field. In 2008 she became the chair of the NEACAC Technology Commitee. She has also presented on her work at the College Board Regional Forum in Boston.
Each year she travels to visit colleges in different regions of the US in order to remain current with admissions trends and to familiarize herself with different environments which help her to guide a student to find that “right fit.” Currently she has visited close to 200 colleges and enjoys strong relationships with admissions offices. This and her extensive and varied work with families and adolescents in areas such as conflict resolution, divorce, grief & loss and career planning bring a rich foundation to the arena of college placement.
